Great video from German Convention Bureau

I was recently chatting to the German Convention Bureau on Twitter and asked them to share some videos with us so we could share them with our users via our blog. I was surprised to see such a strong focus on Green meetings. But I can understand their direction, Green meetings and conferences are certainly very popular and allow a conference destination to really differenciate themselves from other destinations. See their video below:
On Meetingsbooker.com we typically recieve 80-120 delegate conferences for Germany with the majority requiring bedrooms as well. The main cities of Munich, Berlin and Frankfurt are most popular but we are also seeing growing demand for conferences in Cologne and Hamburg. Typically the conference client is either corporate or a association with the vast majority coming from UK, USA, France and The Netherlands. Our biggest challenge is getting a quick response from hotels and also we find that many have no availability for short lead (within 2 months) requests.
The largest outbound market from Germany is the UK. Due to our German language site more and more RFPs are coming in now in German so we have a German customer service staff available to handle these and do the necessary translations if required.

Thanks so much, meetingsbooker, for posting our video and for your blog entry.
Green meetings are very important to us because sustainability as a whole is an important theme in Germany, and we strive to be an innovator and thought leader within this field and other industries as well. In fact, German expertise in industries such as pharmaceutical, automotive, or biotech is increasingly driving international meetings business to the country as more and more organizations decide to host meetings and events in places where “their” spheres of interest are represented.
