Idea’s Wanted: Could You Be Ireland’s Best Event Organizer
Eventbrite Ireland has just launched a campaign called Ideas Wanted, in a quest to find Ireland’s best event organizer. The concept was born out of the fact that students in Ireland have a proven track record of coming up with incredible ideas for events such as Trinity’s annual Jailbreak to DCU’s 24 hour TV broadcast.
The competition is open to all third level students studying in Ireland, and involves students coming up with a creative event idea that people will pay to attend.
Ann Lowney, Marketing Manager for Eventbrite Ireland, says a great event organizer is “someone that is great at communicating their vision & understanding who their target market is.”
Lowney believes that organizing events at University, whether big or small, will really help students later in life regardless of what career path they choose.
“Whether you decide on a career in events after university is up to you, but the skills that you learn whilst doing them are transferable to most industries. Research, planning, organisation, promotion, business development, management and budgeting,” she says.
The competition winner will receive a free venue for their event, 2000 euro towards organizing the event, a paid work placement with On Tap events company, an event show reel and mentor-ship from Eventbrite.
