Our Venue of the Day: The Tobacco Theater, Amsterdam

We have chosen The Tobacco Theater as our venue of the day for both the spaces on offer and the ambience the history of the building creates!

The venue is located on a narrow street called the Nes which is only a 15 minute walk from Amsterdam’s main train station. During the 19th century, the street was known for it’s nightlife, but when it’s popularity fell at the beginning of the 20th century, the buildings changed into offices, tobacco companies and auction houses. It wasn’t until the 1960’s when the buildings had further changes into theaters.

The Tobacco Theater as it stands today is a large space with many rooms on offer as it is made up of 4 once existing theatres. Each room upholds the same rough, authentic, industrial theme. All rooms on the ground floor have 9 metre high ceilings allowing for great light and space.
